Sourdough Pumpkin Bread Recipe

This Pumpkin Bread recipe is perfect for the entertaining guests over the holidays.

Equipment

  • large bowl
  • loaf pans, greased

Ingredients
  

  • 3 ¼ cups flour
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp nutmeg
  • 1 tbso ground cloves
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • cup sourdough starter
  • 1 cup Crisco or coconut oil
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups canned pumpkin purée
  • ½ cup dried cranberries
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp orange juice

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F
  • In a large bowl, cream shortening, sugar, and eggs.
  • Add starter and dry ingredients until smooth
  • Pour into two greased loaf pans and bake for one hour - add time if needed.
