Sourdough Pumpkin Bread Recipe
This Pumpkin Bread recipe is perfect for the entertaining guests over the holidays.
Equipment
- large bowl
- loaf pans, greased
Ingredients
- 3 ¼ cups flour
- 3 cups sugar
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1 ½ tsp salt
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp nutmeg
- 1 tbso ground cloves
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- ⅔ cup sourdough starter
- 1 cup Crisco or coconut oil
- 4 eggs
- 2 cups canned pumpkin purée
- ½ cup dried cranberries
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp orange juice
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F
- In a large bowl, cream shortening, sugar, and eggs.
- Add starter and dry ingredients until smooth
- Pour into two greased loaf pans and bake for one hour - add time if needed.
