There were many factors that led us to wanting to create Duffy’s Dough. Chief among them was in experiencing the simple fun of baking. The ancient and universal practice of working with dough, the hands-on art of baking reignites the powerful joy of creating something. The rise in yeast tangible proof of the wonders of resilience. We liked that metaphor and the fact that good things can happen when people are brought together through a simple, shared activity.
Another factor is that we are very grateful for the good fortunes we’ve been blessed by and a corresponding urge we’d each felt to express that gratitude in some tangible way.
We’ve been inspired by many people and companies who have made dynamic differences for good through their philanthropic works during their distinguished histories. Yvon Chouinard and Patagonia, Paul Newman and Newman’s Own to name but two. Following their lead, our company is committed to giving 100% of our profits away. To be clear, like any business we incur costs … taxes, shipping, supplies, worker compensation, marketing and advertising, shipping, etc. So once these obligations are met, 100% of our profits will go to charitable organizations that work to eradicate food scarcity. We have a long way to go to meet the impactful giving standards of the aforementioned companies but we’re aiming high and every kit sold brings us that bit closer to our goals. Thank you for joining us on the journey.
